John Bowser, MS
Research Specialist/FAS Data Abstractor

John Bowser John Bowser is a Research Specialist and FAS Data Abstractor with the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. He holds a Masters degree in Human and Community Resources, with an emphasis of study in Health Promotion and Community Resources from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. He joined the Population Health Institute in August of 2007.

Mr. Bowser is currently conducting data abstraction for the Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) Surveillance study. The objective of the surveillance portion of the study is to determine the prevalence of fetal alcohol syndrome in a 9-county area of Southeastern Wisconsin.

Immediately prior to joining the Population Health Institute, Mr. Bowser worked at Dean Health Plan in Madison in the care management program where he wrote health information materials, gained experience reviewing medical records and conducted corporate health assessments in conjunction with Dean/St. Mary's Health Works. Before that, and moving back to his home state of Wisconsin, Mr. Bowser was a member of the Congressional staff for U.S Congressman Lane Evans (IL-17).
