Anna Kocharian
Masters Student
Anna Kocharian is a first year
graduate student in the Department of Population Health Sciences and a project assistant at the Population Health
Institute. She currently works on assessing the risk of alcohol exposed pregnancies in Wisconsin with the Fetal Alcohol
Syndrome prevention and intervention project. In 2004, she received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University
of Wisconsin-Madison. As a college student, she worked at the UW-Madison Cardiovascular Research Center, culturing
cardiomyocytes to study the L-type calcium channel. In 2001, she did an internship in tumor biology research at the Mayo
Clinic in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Her current interests are in chronic disease epidemiology
and perinatal epidemiology.
