Barbara L. Hill, MSSW
Researcher
Barbara Hill is a Researcher with the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.
She is currently the statewide coordinator for the Wisconsin Injury Prevention Coalition
Project in partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin. In that capacity, she works
with both state and local partners to support the development of injury prevention coalitions
and to achieve project goals.
Ms. Hill also coordinates the Recovery High Schools as Continuing Care for Drug Abuse project,
an NIH funded exploratory/developmental research grant to study high schools nationwide that
provide educational and therapeutic services for adolescents in recovery from alcohol and other
drug abuse. She is also the lead researcher for the UW-Center for Tobacco Research and Intervention's
(CTRI) funded project to evaluate the impact of the National Tobacco Quitline Network Initiative.
Previously, she served as the Evaluation Coordinator for the Surveillance and Evaluation Program,
leading the evaluation of the state tobacco prevention and control coalitions and other programs
funded by the state Division of Public Health.
Ms. Hill completed her undergraduate work at Purdue University Lafayette, Indiana and earned a
Master of Science Social Work (MSSW) degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with
combined clinical and program evaluation concentrations.
