Applied Health Econometrics

Research Area: Health services research
Keywords: Risk Adjustments, Evaluation, Applied Health Econometrics

Principal Investigator: Prof. John Mullahy

My research also focuses on a variety of methodological issues that arise in the econometric analysis of health and healthcare data. These topics include: understanding interaction effects; associations and covariances in health data; statistical testing and statistical power; and understanding heterogeneity in comparative effectiveness research.

Some preliminary work in these and related areas has been presented in lecture series at the University of Coimbra (in the 2008 EU Marie Curie Masterclass Lectures), and the University of York (as a visiting scholar at CHE and HEDG in 2009), in addition to presentations elsewhere. These lecture slides and preliminary working papers are available here for purposes of dissemination of ideas, but because of their preliminary nature please do not quote. Comments are welcome.
